It is very important for your business and your customers which applicant ICANN grants the TLD .VIP, as the idea that "My name is my brand" is particularly relevant for VIPs. We also believe that: "VIPs have acquired singular status through their achievements and are exceptional people or projects. It is important for us and our organization to put their achievements, rather than their personal weaknesses or scandals, in the foreground". We would therefore like to offer you and your customers the opportunity, with the TLD .VIP, to secure a Internet address which is in keeping with your status and the "DOTVIP" seal of approval.
The top level domain .VIP is highly coveted
(Own report) The Internet will be more diverse in the future. Numerous new top level domains (TLDs) will in the future offer creative opportunities to secure more attractive domains. 1,930 applications have been submitted to the ICANN for 1,409 new TLDs. On 230 occasions multiple applications were submitted for the same TLDs. For the TLD .VIP six applications have been submitted. Besides Vipspace Enterprises LLC, a subsidiary of Google (Charleston Road Registry), Donuts Inc. (John Corner LLC), Top Level Domains Holding Ltd., I-Registry Ltd. and VIP Registry Pte. Ltd. are also trying to secure the highly coveted TLD .VIP.
Interesting information on the quality of the applications can be found on the ICANN website. Vipspace Enterprises LLC will grant the domain exclusively to "very important persons" (prominent figures and celebrities) and "very important projects" (foundations) as a symbol of their special status. Google would make the granting of the domain possible through large companies, for their marketing campaigns, such as reward programs etc. Donuts Inc. only gives better searchability as its business model. TLDH Ltd. wants to allow prominent individuals to register their name, while VIP Registry PTE Ltd. would like to enable well-known providers of luxury goods and services, i.e. companies, to have a new Internet address. I-Registry Ltd. wants to link the granting of the domain to donations and apparently used the Internet portal www.vipspaces.com, which has been operating since last year, as a model. Vipspace Enterprises LLC gives that Internet portal as a reference for its own application. The "Mission Statement" published on it allows clear conclusions to be drawn concerning the business model - it says "Do good and show it! Our expertise is to optimally implement this important task for our VIPs". That business model too has already been on the market for one year, with the European trademark "DOTVIP" footprint. It will also be interesting whether the trademark holder, which is also the founder of Vipspace Enterprises LLC, will make its trademark rights available to parties other than Vipspace Enterprises. Otherwise, the successful applicant would have to expect difficulties with the marketing of the TLD .VIP in Europe.
We would be happy to provide you with further details and news.
